History of Fintry Castle
The scant remains of Fintry Castle stand just to the east of the village of the same name and about 4 miles north of Lennoxtown. The site was fortified by the Earls of Lennox in the 13th century and the castle passed to the Clan Graham sometime in the 15th century. The date of the castle's abandonment is unclear but its condition was recorded as ruinous in 1724.
