About Gagie House

Gagie House is a 17th-century fortified house extended after an 1894 fire.

History of Gagie House

Gagie House can be found about 5 miles north of Broughty Ferry in Angus. The original tower house was constructed around 1610 by the Clan Guthrie on lands which had been in the possession of the Clan Oliver. This fine example of a rectangular-plan fortified house of two storeys was badly damaged in a fire in 1894, after which it was repaired and has been repeatedly extended becoming a handsome if rambling edifice. The house is a private residence.
